The PSM200 Smith bar delivers the ultimate safety and security with its catches, helping prevent injuries on failed reps and letting you lift heavy even without a spotter. Featuring 12 lockout points, you can lock the bar with a simple rotation during any part of the motion, while high-impact nylon bushings provide frictionless action on the chrome-plated guide rods. For traditional barbell workouts, the PSM200 features two composite-lined j-cups and two 13″ safety spotter arms, each with 12 adjustments every 7.6 cm. What’s the difference between the PSM200 and the cheaper Best Fitness Smith Machine?
The PSM200 is a Smith machine and a free-weight half rack in one — it adds composite-lined j-cups and 13″ safety spotter arms, a 7° reverse-pitch bar, a 180 kg capacity and a 10-year frame warranty. The Best Fitness BFSM250B is a simpler guided Smith machine built for budget home gyms.

Can I use it for free-weight lifting too?
Yes. The two j-cups and safety spotter arms let you bench, squat and press with a normal barbell, alongside the guided Smith bar.

What does the 7-degree reverse pitch do?
It angles the bar to follow the natural path of a press or squat, making the movement more comfortable and biomechanically correct than a straight vertical Smith bar.

What plates does it take?
Olympic (2″) plates only. Four integrated plate horns keep them organised on the frame. Plates are purchased separately.

Can I add a lat pulldown?
Yes. Add the PLT200 Lat Attachment (and the optional PP10 weight stack — 3 units fill it) for pulldowns, rows and more. Both are sold separately.

Is it suitable for commercial use?
It’s light-commercial rated with a 10-year frame warranty — great for small fitness centres, personal-training studios, physio clinics and serious home gyms.
