What does “counterbalanced” mean, and why does it matter?
A counterweight inside the frame offsets most of the bar and carriage weight, so the bar starts at only about 2.7 kg instead of 15–20 kg. Beginners, rehab clients and anyone working on technique can start light, while stronger lifters simply add plates — up to 454 kg.

Can I really lift heavy on my own without a spotter?
Yes. The bar has 20 lockout positions, so you can rack it with a simple twist of the wrist at any point in the lift, and the adjustable safety stops catch the bar if a rep fails.

What size weight plates does it take?
Olympic (2″) plates, loaded onto the bar sleeves. Six integrated storage posts keep them off the floor. Plates are purchased separately.
