Product Description
The Rugged Y120 is built to exceed expectations and fit easily into almost any home or commercial setting — basements, garage gyms and training facilities alike. Its 2″×3″, 11-gauge steel frame and welded construction shrug off heavy squats, presses and pulls with minimal flex, while the electrostatically applied black powder-coat finish keeps it looking sharp. A 454 kg weight capacity and a lifetime frame-and-welds warranty mean it's built to last.
The open-back, two-post design gives you commercial-rack safety in a far smaller footprint than a full cage. A pair of UHMW J-cups hold your bar ready and two spotter arms catch a failed rep, so you can train heavy on your own with confidence, while the integrated chin-up bar adds pull-ups without any extra hardware. Westside hole spacing through the press zone lets you set lift-off and spotter heights precisely.
When you're ready to grow your setup, the Y120 expands with a Rugged lat attachment, dip attachment, back-extension, weight horns and bar holders.

Yes. It's built from 2″×3″, 11-gauge steel with a 454 kg capacity and a lifetime frame-and-welds warranty, and the included spotter arms let you push heavy on your own with confidence.
What's included?
The half-rack frame, two UHMW J-cups, two spotter arms and an integrated chin-up bar. A barbell and weight plates are not included.
Half rack or full cage — which should I get?
The Y120 half rack is an open-back, two-post design — you lift in front of the uprights with spotter arms to catch the bar — so it takes up less space. The Y100 full rack surrounds you on four posts for maximum security and a higher capacity. Choose the Y120 where space matters; choose the full rack for the most enclosed setup.
What attachments fit?
The Y120 has a 2″×3″ (50 × 75 mm) profile with 5/8″ (16 mm) holes. Use Rugged's own attachments — Y230 lat, Y257 dip, Y253 weight horns, Y220 back extension and Y254 bar holder.
Will it fit my space?
Assembled it measures 128 cm L × 133 cm W × 227 cm H, so allow for a ceiling of at least 227 cm plus clearance for pull-ups.

The PPR500X is the compact half rack: 2″ × 2″ 14-gauge steel, 317 kg capacity and 211 cm tall. The Rugged Y120 is the heavy-duty option: 2″ × 3″ 11-gauge steel, 454 kg capacity, Westside hole spacing and a lifetime frame warranty, at 227 cm tall. Excellent Quality, Value and Service ![Nicholas Efthimiou review photo]()
I purchased the Rugged squat rack with the extension, lat pull-down attachment, dip handles, pin and pipe safeties, extra J hooks and a flat-incline bench for my new garage gym.
After researching extensively, I decided that this setup offered the best blend of quality and value for my needs.
My allocated home gym space is 2 m deep, which meant the half rack was the option for me, although 2.5 m would be even better if you wanted some space in front of the rack, as the bench *just* fits, though there is a little overhang due to the wheels.
I managed to assemble it all by myself, which was fairly straightforward; ensure to plan it out though.
The rack is solid and stable, though there is a minor amount of lateral movement if you push it, to be expected as there is no horizontal bar at the back of the extensions.
With the extensions and pin and pipe safeties I can lift both inside and in front of the rack which is great for alternating sets ie bench press and chin ups.
The only let down is the lat pull-down, it’s not a deal breaker, but it’s not as smooth as I hoped, which is annoying, especially for isolation exercises.
Something to be mindful of is the kneeling on the chin up bar. If you do a lot of muscle ups and other dynamic movements, it’s probably not the best choice.
Otherwise, if you are someone who focuses mostly on the basic barbell lifts - squats and presses, along with chin ups and dips, pull-down and rows, it’s a fantastic setup that will last a lifetime.

This rack arrived within a few days of ordering. It is a sturdy, well finished rack which is easy to assemble, though it helps to have another person to hold the uprights whilst you attach them to the base. Also looks smart and not too intrusive in a home gym situation. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend for a home gym or even small boutique commercial operation.

Awesome Service and Product
Was initially a bit reluctant as getting heavy freight to Tassie is often difficult and expensive BUT the the service from BF was outstanding. I ordered the Half rack on the Sunday night and it arrived at 7am, 4 days later! Unbelievable! The rack was well packed and went together easily. I ordered this rack after being recommended by a friend and it is perfect for intended use. The product arrive in less than 5 days to Tassie (unbelievable) and was so well packaged it took my longer to un box than it do to put together. J cups are meh, the plastic inserts extrude a cm or two and can catch the bar and catch you off guard re racking, also one of my spotter arms are a little bent making it a very tight fit taking them on and off
