"Home gym" covers three different kinds of machine, and the right one depends on how you like to train, how much space you have and whether you already own plates.
A multi-station gym has fixed stations that guide each movement: a press arm, lat pulldown, mid and low rows, a leg developer and, on some, a leg press. It is the easiest type to learn and the safest to use alone, and one weight stack (or one set of plates) serves every station. The Powerline P2X and Fitness Factory EXM1 are compact single-stack gyms with optional leg press attachments; the Body-Solid G9S has two stacks so two people can train at once; the Powerline PHG1000X and Body-Solid SBL460P4 are plate-loaded.
A functional trainer has two adjustable pulleys that slide from floor to overhead, so you can train any movement in any plane with a cable: crossovers, rows, pulldowns, presses, curls, rotational core work and sport-specific patterns. It is the most versatile machine you can own, but it has no press arm or leg stations, so it suits people who are happy to learn cable exercises or who pair it with a bench and free weights. The Powerline PFT100X is our best seller; the Powerline PCCO90X is the plate-loaded option.
If your home gym is built around a rack, bench and free weights, a plate-loaded lat pulldown machine fills the gap that barbells and dumbbells leave: vertical pulling for your back. The Powerline PLM180X and Body-Solid GLM85B both add seated rows and curls from a low pulley.

A single-stack multi-station gym such as the P2X or EXM1. Every station guides the movement, the weight changes with a pin, and one machine covers chest, back, shoulders, arms and legs.
Choose a multi-station gym if you want press and leg stations and prefer guided movements. Choose a functional trainer if you want the widest range of exercises and are comfortable with cable work. The P2X does a bit of both with its functional side pulleys.
Take the machine's footprint and add about 60 cm around it to get on and off and change the weight. Every machine here stands 211–213 cm or less, so a standard 2.4 m ceiling is enough.
A weight stack is quicker and needs no plates. Plate-loaded machines cost less up front and use plates you may already own, and resistance is limited only by what you load.
Yes. Every machine ships free Australia-wide by freight from our Adelaide warehouse. Larger machines arrive in several cartons and freight is usually left at your door, so plan for help to move them inside.
